Under Green Skies By Judy Hitchcock

Our ebb & flow
Never soft,
Like the moon and the tides
Wasn’t our thing
Stayed five seasons too long
In a place, with green skies
I never did quite belong

Milk and Honey, for the soul,
Is all I ever asked of you

While you made peace with your comfort
I waited…
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall

Then, I dug deep, Love,
To the salt of my bones
Found forgotten faith, Love,
And started talking to God
Started making things right, Love
My reality, your facade

The veil, lifted

So under green skies,
And a love, I’ll never understand
In a war-torn-zone, in a forgotten land
Stay buried the seeds, we loved to sew
It’s gone Love, best let it go
